Behold the miniatures of Duda Beatović
Duda Beatović’s nostalgic visions of Panonia
(Panonic Plain) scenery, fascinate with their ample simplicity, drawing
the spectator into that miraculous endeavour of creating the untold. A
fairy-tale like vision of the world leads into the endless realm of the
irrational.
A self-taught artist, liberated of all
constraints and academical cannons, the artist breathes life into clay,
expressing herself in the most authentic way. With an impeccable sense
for colors, Duda has grown into an outstanding colorist. As if waving
a magic wand over her palette, Duda uses her majestic combination of colors
to achieve an interplay of light and shadows depicting the shady treelines
along Vojvodina’s sokaks (village streets).
Reliving scenes of her childhood, Duda
gives her memories a solid form in her ceramic tile miniatures. Hundreds
of tiles and each and every one different and unique. Alike, yet unrepeatable.
The playful imagination of the artist enriches the raw material with an
inexplicable and touching naivete. Duda’s miniatures radiate with sincerity
and warmth.
Poetry in clay, the main feature of the
mastery of Duda Beatović.

Visiting Victoria and not seeing one of
the numerous art displays, especially one at historical Bastion Square,
means you deprived yourself from a real splendor for your eyes and soul.
Those are the places from where the artwork of local and visiting artists
are sent off to the world.
If your travels bring you to Victoria and Bastion Square
we might meet. As those are the places from where my ceramic tile miniatures
start their voyages to Japan, China, Europe, Australia, Africa and other
parts of the world.
Until we meet I wish you the most pleasurable visit to
this site.
